Plan your transport
An exhibit that is to return has a different fate from promotional material that is handed out. Separate these purposes in your description and name the contact responsible for documents. Link product names in different languages via the same stable identifier so that packing list and documents match.
Within the EU and beyond
Between EU member states, customs formalities generally do not apply to typical exhibition goods; packing list, delivery address and contacts are usually enough for planning. For fairs outside the EU – for example in Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Middle Eastern countries – customs procedures are added. We check before quoting whether and how a specific route can be carried out.
Temporary admission and the ATA Carnet
Exhibition goods that return after the event can be imported for temporary admission in many countries, often with an ATA Carnet. In Germany, carnets are issued by the chambers of commerce and industry (IHK). Clarify early whether a carnet is needed and who applies for it; we plan the transport so that clearance times and documents fit the fair schedule.
What matters
- Collection and destination countries and the exact venue address are stated.
- The purpose is named for each group of goods: exhibition with return, distribution or sale.
- It is clear who obtains customs documents or an ATA Carnet.
