Plan your transport
A list becomes confusing when the same unit appears under different names. Assign a stable number and write the contents next to it. If packages are combined or split, the new version shows which old numbers were replaced – so a changed count is not later mistaken for a loss.
The columns that really matter
Proven columns are: package number, contents, packaging type, length × width × height, gross weight, stackability, recipient or stand area, and a note ‘outbound’, ‘return’ or ‘stays’. Transport planning rarely needs more; less almost always leads to questions.
One list for outbound and return
Keep using the same list after the fair instead of starting a new one. Mark material that was used up, sold or repacked. You can then compare outbound and return shipments at a glance, and the quotation for the return is based on current data.
What matters
- Every package has a unique, stable number.
- Packed dimensions and gross weight appear on every line.
- The list carries a date or version number for the latest change.
