Plan your transport

Compare the same lines in each quotation: outbound and return; packing list version; binding or requested time windows; handover at the gate, goods receiving or stand; loading and unloading; handling of empty packaging; waiting time rule; additional services and validity. Enter ‘included’, ‘separate’ or ‘open’ for each. A central handover point and delivery to the stand can only be compared once this difference has been clarified.

How to use the comparison grid

Create a table with the lines above and one column per quotation. Anything that remains ‘open’ should be queried with the provider before you decide. A price difference is often explained by exactly one of these lines – for example because one quotation does not include the return journey or the route to the stand at all.

Create equal assumptions

Send all providers the same packing list and the same dates. Different input data lead to different quotations that differ because of the input, not the service.

What matters

  • All quotations state the same handover point, or the difference is marked.
  • All quotations are based on the same packing list version.
  • Return transport is shown separately in each quotation and compared.
